SKILLED MIGRATION

In general, applicants will be selected based on Skillselect program where an is expected to score minimum 60 points to be eligible. Australian General Skilled Migration (GSM) program comprises different subclasses that may offer visa options for different potential immigrants:

• Unsponsored and Sponsored
• National (federal) and “Local” (state/regional)
• Permanent and Temporary

For most GSM subclasses, the Australian (Federal) Government – through its Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) – uses a point test to select “visa applicants with characteristics needed in the Australian labour market”. It also provides set lists of those occupations it wishes selected applicants to have, both for national and local immigration.

The Process:

GSM is a step by step procedure

Aspirants submit their profile and are filtered based on the points issued. Every profile in the GSM program is granted certain points based on the following grounds-

• Language Proficiency
• Age
• Education
• Work experience
• Certificates
• Skilled Occupation List (SOL)

Based on the score, a rank is awarded to the profile.
